Elisa Lejuez in Curacao
Aruban artist
Elisa Lejuez-Peters opened a new art exhibition in one of Curacao's unique landmark homes, Landhuis Brakkeput Mei Mei.
Lejuez, who brought her works to neighboring island Curacao for three previous art exhibitions, surprised her audience once again.

Tout Va Bien
A colorful, bright art show called Kitchen Blessings is the latest result of her artistic inspirations. During a well attended opening reception,
Lejuez's works quickly found their way into the hands of new owners and Curacao homes. Both the artist as well as host Tony Halibi, owner of Brakkeput Mei Mei, were pleased with the response to the new art collection in its rustic indoor setting.
The art works will be on display until April 1st.
Lejuez was commissioned to work on a new art show by Tony Halibi. He was exposed to her work for the first time while having dinner in a popular Aruban restaurant.
"I could not keep my eyes off the walls because of all the bright art works that were on display in the restaurant. I asked everyone that night who the artist was and where I could find this person, that's how impacted I was by
Elisa's art. Believe it or not, two years later she was standing in my own restaurant in Curacao for a private dinner one night and by coincidence I found out it was
Elisa. I take great pleasure in hosting this art exhibition in our Landhuis Brakkeput Mei Mei as I truly admire her art and the works have a very positive effect on our indoor dining space", Halibi stated.

Dressed to the occasion, in one of her black& white designed skirts, part of her own clothing line that's currently in development,
Lejuez explained her choice for the kitchen theme during the welcoming reception.
The inspiration for Kitchen Blessings developed as
Lejuez was decorating her new home in Aruba.
"I looked around in my house and basically in each room and even outside
there was art, except for the kitchen. And why not hang art in the kitchen. Don't get me wrong: these new art works were not created to only, exclusively hang them in your kitchen. I just focused on that specific area in my house and along came the coffee, chicken, milk and cows",
Elisa explains.
"Bringing the artworks to life by creating little displays and sceneries in front of the paintings, as we did in this landhuis is a new idea I uses as a presentation technique. With help of Brakkeput's staff and the hidden finds from closets and attics, an art show in itself was created with wooden shoes, a coffee bar, fruit displays, glass work in bright blue and table cloths matching the look and feel of each painting in front of the art".

The result of this kitchen inspiration is stunning, and the presentation of the art works in Landhuis Brakkeput Mei Mei is surprising and refreshing. The art show can be visited daily, free of charge, at Landhuis Brakkeput Mei Mei, Jan Sofat, Curacao until April 1st. Price lists and more information on the artist are available in the exhibition room.
Lejuez's work is also on display in Aruba. Her own art studio is located at Malmokweg (across from the entrance of Tierra del Sol golf course), and more of her work is on display in Access Art Gallery, Mar Azul Art Gallery,
Amazonia Restaurant, Aruba
Marriott Resort and Ruth's Chris Steak House. An overview of her work can be found at
