SINBAD Soul Music Festival 1998 - Update 9th February 1998 The Sinbad Soul Music Festival is coming to Aruba once again. Close to 10,000 people are expected to visit Aruba for the event which will take place between May 20th and May 25th 1998. The venue is the Guillermo Trinidad Stadium. An aggressive multimillion dollar promotional campaign is already under way, including radio & TV promotion (of course including Sinbad's TV show - Vibes), press conferences, promotion on AOL who is also sponsoring the event, as well as various magazines. For more information, call 1-800-266-SOUL or better still, look up the Soul Music Festival website, since the 800 number is being flooded with calls. The line-up will be known by the end of this month - we'll keep you posted!

the only one to sweep the overly excited audience off of their feet. Rei Nier, the
original 'Nederlander", drew shouts and applause from more than his students from
Colegio Arubano when he sang his song, Huppelen.

Seaport has big plans for Aruba Well known entrepreneur Mr. Eduardo de Veer, creator and owner of the Seaport Village which includes the Aruba Sonesta Resort, the Seaport Conference Center, Crystal Casino and a cinema complex among others, plans to invest an additional US$9 million with a priority to develop a new marina that will host more than 100 yachts. More than US$2 million will be invested in the Stardust Showroom which will host the show 'Hot Ticket'. A soft opening is scheduled for February 26th 1998. The theater-style Showroom will have the capacity for 460 persons. 'Hot Ticket' will be a show similar to those in Las Vegas and is from Jane Ryan productions. "This will surely be the best show on the island" claims de Veer, who also plans to invest US$1 million in refurbishing the casino.
